Experience a winter’s tale before the backdrop of half-timbered houses from 30 Nov. to 27 Dec. 2017
At the end of November Celle’s Old Town turns into a winter’s tale once more. The half-timbered houses and the streets in the pedestrian zone glimmer in festive Christmas illumination and the flavour of gingerbread, hot punch and fir sprigs lingers in the historical narrow streets and courtyards.
Various stalls invite one to stroll, to look and to dwell a little while in the historical Old Town. In lovingly decorated log huts hand-made natural bees wax candles, snug lambskin articles and wooden toys are offered for sale alongside ornamental Christmas articles made from glass, clay, fabric or felt.
Market stalls offering Christmas specialities such as mulled wine, glazed almonds and funnel cakes entice one to buy. On the Großer Plan the traditional and very popular Christmas pyramid and the well-known variety of Christmas stalls welcome visitors.
This year, too, there will be a little Christmas wood on the Stechbahn with traditional and individual handicraft work.
