The Celle National State Stud was founded on July 27 in 1735, by decree of Georg II, Elector of Hanover and King of Great Britain.
In 1800, there were already 100 stallions standing at stud in Celle, which were sent out to around 50 service stations every year.
Today, the stallion stock includes 120 stud stallions, among them are 10 thoroughbreds and 2 Anglo-Arabians. Additionally, there are 30 three year old young Hanoverian stallions stationed at the stallion performance testing station in Adelheidsdorf. The stallions were brought up in Hunnesrück and will finish their 11 months of training with the stallion performance test at the age of 3 1/2.
