Military history collection

The Berlin Airlift Memorial Site has been integrated into the Faßberg military airfield and is part of the military history collection of the the Technical Training Centre of the Air Force.

Rosinenbomber unter Dach.

The human effort and the utilization of the military airfield in Faßberg during the massive operation of the Berlin Airlift inthe years 1948-49 is documented here.

Apart from the original reassembled Nissen huts in which photos, wall charts and original objects bring the time of the airlift back to life, the „Rasin bomber“, a C 47 Skytrain, is the main attraction.
