Classic Guided Town Tour

A 1-1/2 hour guided tour through Celle’s Historical Old Town

During our accessible town tour, we will show you the special features of our beautiful half-timbered town, with its approximate thousand listed buildings.

On this tour, we take you through the history of Celle and its development over the past centuries, such as the town’s expansion around 500 years ago. We will tell you about the Bomann Museum, the Latin School, the Old Town Hall and show you the wonderful half-timbered buildings in the beautiful streets of Celle’s Historical Old Town.
Discover with us the features of half-timbered construction and the many different styles of ornamentation. Take a look at the inscriptions from earlier times and discover the changes to the buildings over the centuries. During our tour you will learn a lot about life in an old, half-timbered town, right down to the water supply in times gone by.
We will also be happy to show you our impressive St. Mary's Church. Circumstances allowing, we will be able to go inside the church and explain the history of its amazing Baroque interior.
