Experience the Romance of Narrow Guage Railways from Earlier Times

Indulge in an easy, light rail excursion aboard the HEIDE-EXPRESS, which is run with dedication and committment by the volunteers of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Verkehrsfreunde Lüneburg (AVL).

The HEIDE-EXPRESS museum train meanders along the charming scenic route through the Lüneburg Heath and the Elbe Marsh. Since 2010, the association has been operating the railway line from Lüneburg to Bleckede as Bleckeder Kleinbahn and thus saved it from closure.

The HEIDE-EXPRESS operates a regular service from Lüneburg and Winsen offering a variety of trips.
You can also charter the train to suit your own personal itinerary.
In addition to Lüneburg and Winsen, trains can also begin at Celle or Soltau, for example, as the entire route network of the Osthannoverschen Eisenbahnen (OHE) can be used for the HEIDE-EXPRESS.

When travelling from Soltau or Celle, however, the vehicles must be transferred as they are based in Lüneburg and Winsen.
