The smallest and oldest alleyway in Celle is among the top attractions in the historical old town
One of the most beautiful, original old alleys in Celle is the Kalandgasse, which leads from Kanzleistraße past the church of St. Mary, to the Stechbahn. A look along the Kalandgasse reveals a dreamlike and romantic vista.
The name derives from the semi-religious order of the Kaland Brotherhood.
On the site where once stood the Order’s assembly house, you will today find the Latin School, which was built in 1602 and the facade of which is decorated with rich carvings.
Let the history of the Kalandgasse and the Old Latin School come to life, through a guided tour of the Celle.
