Above the Clouds over Celle

The Hanoverian Aero Club was founded in 1921 and today is the aviation home of 180 members, either for flying gliders or model aircraft.

The Club, with its training rooms, offices and workshops, is located to the north of Hanover, in the Sahlkamp district and just 5 minutes from the Tempelhofweg underground station.

Glider flights were still operating from here until 1975. Today, flight operations take place on the spacious Wienhausen-Oppershausen glider airfield near Celle (easily reached on the B3 road), which offers very good thermal conditions and is free from airspace restrictions.
